Right click on Garrys mod, go to properties, then "set launch options" Type in "-sw" This will start the game in windowed mode, you can try to change it back to full screen once in the main menu. It comes up with a white screen though I can select the buttons That black screen may be a result of you trying to change something in the minecraft folder, or downloading a mod but put it in the wrong place. This happened to me once so if you did recently get into the minecraft folder, im guessing this is you problem.

So basicly after finising the download for SkyrimSE I took to the mod page before anything else downloading all the mods I wanted that were out already basicly downloading around 18 of them in one go. To my surprise I found out I was stuck on the loading screen that you get after downloading a mod and exiting from the mod page but it wouldn't stop. So I did what anyone else would and closed the game via task manager and then restarted my computer.
